This Blog is about college football favorites
-------------------------------
College football is never out of season, especially if you ask football bettors. And with the odds on winning the 2010 BCS National Championship Game recently released, it’s never too early to make your first wager of the season.
Let’s look at some of the favorites coming into 2010, teams which might make you a lot of money later, if you invest in them now, with some College Football Futures Bets!
Alabama (+375): Honestly, could anyone other than Nick Saban’s club be the favorites heading into the 2010 college football season? They’re coming off a dominating 13-0 season, in which they beat six ranked teams, including No. 1 Florida in the SEC Championship Game, and No. 2 Texas in the BCS National Championship Game in Pasadena.
Maybe even more impressively, is that despite some heavy losses on defense, their offense returns almost virtually in tact. Quarterback Greg McElroy is back under center, a year after establishing himself as one of the elite quarterbacks in the sport. He finished 2009 with 2508 yards passing and 17 touchdowns to just four interceptions. Alongside him are running back Trent Richardson (751 rushing yards) and the team’s top wide receiver Julio Jones, who caught 43 passes for 596 yards. Oh, and did we mention the reigning Heisman Trophy winner Mark Ingram will be back in Tuscaloosa as well?
There’s a reason that virtually everyone has Alabama as the top ranked team heading into the 2010 season… They’re absolutely loaded! While there might be some teams with more profitable College Football odds than Alabama, there isn’t a team in college football that can beat them when they’re at 100 percent.
Don’t be afraid to make your College Football Futures Bet on the favorites, the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Ohio State (+500): Not feeling the Crimson Tide? Consider the Ohio State Buckeyes, favorites in the Big 10.
Ohio State comes into the season red-hot, after picking apart the Oregon Ducks in the Rose Bowl, defeating the favored Pac-10 champ 26-17. In the game, quarterback Terrelle Pryor emerged as the elite quarterback everyone always thought he could be, as he finished the game with 266 yards passing as well as another 72 on the ground. The Buckeyes also return many key starters on their defense, including All-American defensive end Cameron Heyward.
Remember finally, that Ohio State won’t have to deal with the brutal SEC schedule that Alabama will, and play eight of their 12 games in the cozy confines of Ohio Stadium.
Alabama might have more pure talent, but all of a sudden, Ohio State doesn’t seem like such a crazy long shot at +500, do they? Make them your College Football Futures Bet today!
USC (+1200): The most polarizing coach in college football has made his way to the West Coast, as Lane Kiffin takes over for the departed Pete Carroll at USC, despite coaching only one year of major college football.
Don’t be perturbed if you’re a bettor though, Carroll hardly left the cupboard bare. Returnees include second year starting quarterback Matt Barkley (2735 yards passing, 15 touchdowns), running back Allen Bradford (668 yards rushing) and second leading receiver Ronald Johnson (34 catches, 378 yards).
